Review: Nature Republic Bee Venom Sleeping Mask

Yes, bee venom. Doesn't sound very soothing does it? But it is ^_~ I ordered this sleeping pack on koreadepart. [x]

Nature Republic people, you scammers! :D

Brand: Nature Republic
Name: Bee Venom Sleeping Mask
Price: about 9,000KRW
Amount: 90ml

"Formulated with 75% bee venom complex" riiiiight.

The mask is a very smooth, clear, gel-like paste. It has little yellow beads in it which dissolve when applied to your skin.
(The smell reminds me of ginger, it's not very strong though)

This is how it looks:

It's very easy to apply this mask and it feels great. For your whole face, you need about as much product as there is on my hand in the picture above.
When applying it to your skin, the mask becomes more clear. It feels nicely cooling and soothing *^*
You're supposed to leave the mask on for 15 minutes before going to bed. I guess that's so it gets absorbed and doesn't stick to your pillow hehe~
I used to put a lot of product on my face because it says sleeping mask. But it's actually more effective when using it like a moisturizer. You just put a little product on your fingers and massage it into your skin.

I already said that the mask feels very nice when applying it to your skin ^3^ Whenever I use this I go to bed happy and I sleep way better. This may seem like an exaggeration but it's not. It really makes a difference when you go to bed feeling comfortable in your skin.
Well, but it's even more amazing the morning after! My skin feels so soft whenever I use this. Like reeally soft~ ♥
It's so soothing and really relieves my reddened skin. It also controls "skin oils/sebum" - I have no idea what it's called, sorry. Anyway, I mean when I wake up my T-zone is usually a bit shiny but with this product it's not. I don't even get how it works because the mask is extremely moisturizing. But then again, moisture is something else than oil.

So, the ingredients list was in English and looked pretty scary (I mean silica, polydecene, titanium dioxide,...).
I decided to check the ingredients on a German site called codecheck.
Turns out, the ingredients aren't that bad at all! There are 4 ingredients that aren't "good" but most cosmetic products have those. Of course we don't know about the amount of those ingredients in the product, but anyway I'm kind of relieved.

*The mask could contain palm oil - palm oil production leads to massive devastation of rain forests in Indonesia and Malaysia... which is bad ;o; just thought you should know if you're planning on buying this product (aagh this makes me feel so bad right now ><)
*The 2 bad ingredients are Silica and Glutaral

I was going to list the pros and cons of this product but there aren't a lot of cons. Yes, the packaging is a bit deceptive as it looks more than it is - still, the product goes a loong way. I use it about 2 times a week and I've been using it for quite some time. The package is still almost full ^^
This is definitely one of my favorite Korean skin care products. It does what it promises (or even more than that~). 9,000KRW is a little pricey but I don't regret buying it, I think it was worth my money.

5 out of 5 stars!

    1. Yees Codecheck is awesome ^3^~
      Glutaral was tested on animals and can cause cancer ヽ(o`皿′o)ノ according to some cosmetical policy/guideline 0,1% concentrated Glutaral is allowed in cosmetic/skin care products D: So the sleeping pack doesn't cause cancer or anything but it's still scary right? ;A;

      Anyway thanks for your comment♥

  5. This mask looks really good! I wonder how the bee venom actually works, the texture looks so nice and soothing too. This mask reminds me of the Laneige water sleeping pack which I like :)
