Brand: The Body Shop
Name: Tea Tree Oil

I started using the tea tree oil less than 2 weeks ago and it actually works! My skin has definitely improved. (I mean it still sucks but not as bad). Here's the disgusting proof:

| yaaaaay-.- |
Of course I still get the occasional pimple and my skin still looks red and irritated but, well you can see it, it's not as bad as before. I can't guarantee this works on every skin type but I think it's worth a try.
Like I said in the beginning, I basically bought this to use it as an "Oil Cleanser". It's just... I was too lazy to research how the "Oil Cleansing Method" really worked so I just did it in my own way! :D
What I did: In the evening, I remove my make-up and cleanse my face with my usual cleansing gel (by Nature Republic). I then use a toner if my skin feels more dry than usual. If not, I take the tea tree oil and apply it after drying my face. How I apply it? I put one drop on either of my cheeks and massage them in very gently. The oil is a liquid (obviously) and therefore easy to distribute~ After massaging for a good 10 seconds, the skin will have absorbed most of the oil and therefore gets a little sticky (not in a disgusting way, though). I then do the same on my forehead, chin and jaw. So, for my whole face I use about 5 drops.
Here you can see what happens when applying the oil to skin and massaging:
So I basically use this as a moisturizer. I have no idea if you're supposed to do that but it works on me ^_~ I have very dry skin, btw. But I think this would also work on oily skin - even though it may sound kind of weird to put oil on oily skin, the tea tree oil is kind of mattifying. After applying it, my skin looks matte but dewy (which is really nice~)
Soooo... Not only is this product organic and non-chemical, it actually reduces acne and acne scars in a small amount of time. How great is that? I think the product will last for 2-3 months, and I'm willing to pay 2.50$ per month for healthier looking skin. I gotta say, this is the first product that ever worked on my stupid spots :D At the beginning I didn't like the scent a lot but I've grown used to it. The packaging is great, too.
Overall rating:
5 out of 5! How could I not?
Do you have any experiences with the "Oil Cleansing Method"? If not, are you willing to try?^^

Oh nice! I'll maybe give it a go soon since my Clean and Clear moisturizer is getting over! Does it burn though?
ReplyDeleteThere was this one gel I tried by FabIndia which had tea tree and clove oil in it. BURNED LIKE CRAZY, but it got the job done without drying my skin out! :D (I have the skin of an adolescent boy :/)
Wow the results look amazing! I love how it is also a natural product with no chemicals that actually works. I might even pick this up sometime, it sounds great :)
ReplyDeleteWow! This stuff seems to work amazing~! I want to try it out~! o:
ReplyDeleteI totally bought this because of you! I can't wait to see if it works for me! :'D
DeleteMy friend uses this since last year and boy, it really makes wonder to her skin! :D
ReplyDeleteTea Tree Oil is a real hit :) A secret weapon against all kinds of pimples, I guess. Some of my friends who had skin problems used that and they're quite impressed.
